HMS Bounty (1977)

Andrea Hart

A fiction-based-on-fact novel of the most famous mutiny in British naval history when on April 28, 1789, Fletcher Christian led an uprising against Captain William Bligh, casting him and 18 sailors adrift to sail to a life in exile on the South Pacific island of Pitcairn. The book recounts Bligh's survival - and a second mutiny - after a epic voyage of 3,620 miles in an open boat and reveals the never-before told reason for Fletcher Christian's actions. And suggests how, alone, he escaped from Pitcairn to return to England.
